Jonathan Bennett has been cast as a government attaché named Quentin in the CW’s Supergirl. Bennett himself announced the casting on his Instagram, with TVLine following with information on his character – which is apparently a new creation not from comic books.

Bennett’s Quentin character is described as a “wide-eyed government attaché who is grateful when Supergirl saves his life. However, when he shows his true colors by attending an anti-alien rally, Supergirl aims to prove to Quentin that not all aliens are bad.”

The actor is best known for his role as Aaron Samuels in 2004’s Mean Girls film, and has also appeared in Dancing With The Stars, Veronica Mars, All My Children, and as host of the Food Network shows Halloween Wars and Cake Wars.

Bennett is scheduled to debut in this season’s episode 14, “Stand and Deliver.” Supergirl returns from a winter break on January 20 with its tenth episode of the season, “Suspicious Minds.”
