Artist John McCrea has confirmed that he and colorist Mike Spicer are working on a 21-page standalone story in February 6’s Uncanny X-Men #11.

“The reason I’ve been quiet on the oul social media of late is that I’ve been working on a 21 page story for [Uncanny X-Men #11 which I just finished,” McCrea tweeted. “[W]ritten by [Matthew Rosenberg] with colours by the mighty [Mike Spicer], published by [Marvel], it stars this chap…”

The story will be in addition to the previously solicited lead story by upcoming solo series writer Rosenberg and artist Salvador Larroca. The issue is a special, 72-page issue.

This will be a return for McCrea; although best known for his work on DC’s Hitman, McCrea previously illustrated an issue of Wolverine in 2003 and contributed a pin-up to 2000’s X-Men: Millenial Visions.

Here is the updated solicitation for Uncanny X-Men #11.
