The first trailer for superhero horror movie Brightburn, produced by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn has arrived.

Check it out:

Brightburn envisions a Superboy-like character going bad instead of becoming a hero. Here’s the official synopsis: “What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? With Brightburn, the visionary filmmaker of Guardians of the Galaxy and Slither presents a startling, subversive take on a radical new genre: superhero horror.”

Brightburn was written by Gunn’s brothers Matt and Brian, and is directed by David Yarovesky. It’s due out in theaters May 24, 2019.
